We are thrilled to be back with another General Update!

Over the past two weeks, Fantom made a presence at two major conferences, ETHDubai and Paris Blockchain Week Summit, and we released the brand new Fantom Wallet (fWallet)!

ETHDubai is a developer conference about Ethereum, DeFi, EVM scaling, and more.

At the event, Andre Cronje delivered a compelling presentation on scaling, focusing on the Fantom Virtual Machine (FVM) and the new storage system that accompanies it.

The brand new Fantom Wallet (fWallet) was released!

With a fresh and user-friendly design based on user feedback, the fWallet comes with new staking abilities, integrated bridge and swap, governance proposal creation, and more.

If the release of the fWallet were not good enough news, we also finalized the winners of the Fantom Hackathon Q1 2023!

The top three winners include Estfor Kingdom ($10,000), Rezy ($7,500), and Hazed ($5,000).

The Paris Blockchain Week Summit, of which Fantom was a sponsor, was the center of attention during the week, with Andre Cronje holding a presentation on the dApp developer experience.

Shortly after, Michael Kong walked on stage with Pierre Gasly as the two discussed the adoption of blockchain technology and the most challenging Formula 1 races. The audience was treated to an unforgettable sight: the CEO of the world's fastest blockchain and a driver of the world’s fastest sport on stage together.

Increasing the accessibility of running a validator on Fantom is an important milestone toward further decentralization of the network.

As such, a new governance proposal is now active, giving FTM holders the power to determine whether the validator staking requirement should be reduced to 50k, 75k, or 100k FTM, or maintained at its current level.
