Road to Consensus ‒ The Builders

The annual Consensus festival is one of the largest and most influential events in blockchain and crypto, and this year, Fantom will have a greater presence than ever. On Saturday, June 11, CEO Michael Kong and key members of the Fantom community will take the stage in a special session to discuss innovation in the ecosystem, the future of the protocol, and much more.

We caught up with the builders who will be speaking and representing key Fantom projects to ask them about Consensus 2022.

Owen P, Business Developer, SpookySwap

1. 1. What are you most looking forward to at the conference? I am most looking forward to meeting with people from the Fantom ecosystem for the first time. I have made a lot of friends through my time in the this space and can’t wait to meet them in person.I am particularly interested in meeting Austin of FTM Alerts ‒ he has done so much to help people feel welcome in the Fantom Ecosystem
   2. What will you be speaking about? I will be covering our year building and growing on Fantom.      •     Growth of SpookySwap in volume and users      •     Community engagement      •     Magicat NFTs      •     Governance and decentralization      •     Spooky in the future
   3. Is there one person that you hope to meet, a speaker that you’d like to hear at Consensus? I am most interested in hearing Edward Snowden and Gary Kasparov. If I am being frank however, I have spent a year working with people and partners I have never met and I am really looking forward to meeting them and hearing their personal stories.

Michael “Cass” Kennedy, Security Engineer, Byte Masons

1. 1. What are you most looking forward to at the conference? I’ll be curious to attend talks by speakers addressing other projects, like Helium, and Avalanche. Consensus offers a great opportunity to catch up on industry trends and for builders to meet and learn from each other.
   2. What will you be speaking about?      •     DeFi UX      •     Lending      •     Education      •     Data-driven inventive models
   3. Is there one person that you hope to meet, a speaker that you’d like to hear, or something that you would like to learn about at Consensus? Isaiah Jackson, author of Bitcoin & Black America. I’m a big fan of the Gentlemen of Crypto podcast, which Jackson co-hosts, and I’ve been a member of their community for about a year.

Pete, Founder, Tank Wars

1. 1. What are you most looking forward to at the conference? This is one of the biggest events in blockchain industry so I’m very much looking forward to meeting and discussing ideas with fellow Fantom Ecosystem builders and investors.
   2. What will you be speaking about? I will speak about our Tank Wars Zone GameFi project, the Parent Company Fiberblock.io, our upcoming products and plans, one of which is the Tank Wars Paraverse. It’s our metaverse version that will go beyond gaming to more social activities, tournaments, events, creating a virtual world where our players and users can freely interact with each other.
   3. Is there one person that you hope to meet, a speaker that you’d like to hear, or something that you would like to learn about at Consensus? I’d love to hear more from Michael Kong and his vision about Fantom from now to 2024, especially with regards to ecosystem growth.
