Road to Consensus ‒ Michael Kong
On Saturday June 11, Fantom CEO Michael Kong will speak at the annual Consensus festival to discuss how Fantom is building on its incredible growth to date, with plans for protocol upgrades and more. Michael’s talk marks Fantom’s first appearance at the influential crypto festival, which is expected to draw over 15,000 attendees.
We asked Michael about his plans as he prepares for Consensus 2022.
1. What are you most looking forward to at the conference?
I’m looking forward to meeting a wide range of projects, as many of them that I know of are attending, especially those that have deployed on Fantom. Given that a lot of our industry’s work is remote, it is also great to meet face-to-face, as there is no substitute for it.
2. What will you be speaking about?
I will be discussing how Fantom has emerged as one of the biggest Layer 1 platforms out there, with a particular focus on our underlying technology, and the improvements to be made over the next 12 months and beyond, such as on Proof of Stake and the “Fantom Virtual Machine”.
3. What's the one key Fantom-related idea or point that you want people to remember after the conference?
Fantom’s technology is extremely powerful. We can securely process multiple transactions simultaneously while creating an open-source and permissionless network that anyone can connect to. Our transactions process fast, at a fraction of the cost compared to other networks, and it never goes down.
